HILLSBORO – Ralph Hesler, 84, a director of Hillsboro State Bank for 40 years, died Saturday evening at Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. He had been in failing health for several years. Mr. Hesler was also a member of the Hillsboro Masonic Lodge for 60 years and the Fern Chapter OES for 40 years. He was also a member of the Fountain County council 12 years and the New Liberty Christian Church. He was a retired farmer and a graduate of Hillsboro High School. Mr. Hesler was born Sept. 14, 1887, near Hillsboro, the son of George and Olive Frazier Hesler. He was first married to Fern Williams who died in September, 1922. He was married to Della Myers Feb. 20, 1926. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Harold of Hillsboro; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Eileen) Cantwell, LaJolla, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Olcie N, Caldwell, Terre Haute; a brother, Frazier of Hillsboro, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Services for Mr. Hesler will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home with Rev. Jerome McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery. Friends may call between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. today. – jlr
